The Medication Assistant (MA) at Good Samaritan in Canistota, SD provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a charge nurse. Responsibilities include helping with bathing, grooming, meals, mobility, vital signs, and documenting care and outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 18 preferred.
• Annual continuing education and state certification requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Document care, medication administration, and vital signs.
• Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, eating, mobility and transfers.
• Support wellness programs and maintain a clean living environment.
