Good Samaritan in Canistota, SD is hiring a Medication Assistant (MA) to provide resident-centered care under a charge nurse’s supervision. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor vitals, and support nutrition and hydration needs.

This role involves documentation and communication of care changes. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED; CNA certification per state requirements; prior long-term care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 18 preferred. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Maintains annual continuing education credits (12 hours) and required certifications.
• May need a valid driver’s license and auto insurance if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse within scope.
• Document outcomes, monitor vital signs, and report changes to the charge nurse.
• Assist residents with meals, personal care, and recreational programs.
