Job summary

HarborChase of Olney is seeking a Medication Aide to assist residents with medications and ensure compliance with all regulations. You will document on MOR, maintain an organized med cart, and provide treatments as part of individualized service plans.

The role emphasizes safety, resident rights, and effective communication with residents, families, and staff. Experience in long-term care and familiarity with MOR are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; state-specific training required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing preferred.
• Good working knowledge of Medication Observation Record (MOR).
• Able to communicate effectively with residents, families and staff.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook preferred.

Responsibilities

• Checks the six rights of medication administration at three different times.
• Assists with medications according to MOR.
• Documents on MOR after medication actions, per policy.
• Maintains organized med cart/cabinet and restocks as needed.
• Provides treatments per individual service plans.
• Protects residents' right to safe, confidential treatment.
• Responds to resident calls promptly and professionally.
• Observes for adverse reactions and reports immediately.
• Disposes infectious waste per OSHA guidelines.
• Demonstrates safe, respectful interactions with residents.
