HarborChase of Daytona is seeking a medication aide to assist with resident medications in a Florida long-term care community. You will ensure six rights of medication administration, document on the MOR, and maintain a clean med cart while following safety and infection control guidelines.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, state-required CE credits if applicable, and at least one year of experience in a geriatric or long-care setting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; state-specific training may be required.
  • Must obtain continuing education credits as required by the state (if applicable).
  • Minimum of one year experience in a related setting.
  • Experience in a long-care community and/or geriatric nursing preferred.
  • Experience in emergency care and first aid preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of Medication Observation Record (MOR).
  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, associates, residents, and families.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with medications for residents according to their MOR.
  • Document clearly on the MOR after medications are taken, given, or disposed of.
  • Maintain a neat, organized med cart/cabinet and restock as needed.
  • Provide residents with required treatments as part of their service plan.
  • Respond to resident calls and observe for adverse reactions; report promptly.
