Job summary
Good Samaritan is seeking a Medication Assistant to provide resident-centered care in a Canistota, SD facility. Under a charge nurse, you will assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and help with meals and social activities.
The role includes administering prescribed medications under supervision and documenting care outcomes. State CMA/CNA certification is required, with ongoing CE credits and possible driver’s license needs.
Qualifications
- GED preferred; high school diploma acceptable.
- Minimum age 18; prior long-term care experience preferred.
- Must obtain CMA/TMA or CNA certification as per state requirements.
- Annual continuing education: minimum 12 hours per year.
- State-specific CMA/CNA certification requirements must be met.
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance where applicable.
Responsibilities
- Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision of a charge nurse.
- Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
- Document outcomes, vital signs, and care-related communications to the charge nurse.
- Assist with meals, dining experiences, housekeeping, and wellness activities.
