Job summary

Good Samaritan in Canistota, SD is hiring a Medication Assistant (MA) to provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a charge nurse. You will assist with medications, vital signs, transfers, and personal care, ensuring a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for residents.

The role requires CNA/CMA certification per state requirements, with eligibility to obtain within 120 days where applicable.

Qualifications

• GED preferred, but not required.
• CNA or CMA/TMA certification per state requirements.
• Active CNA registration or ability to obtain within 120 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Document care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary outcomes.
• Assist with transfers, vital signs, and personal care activities as needed.
• Support wellness and recreational programs and assist with dining and housekeeping.

Education

GED or high school diploma

CNA certification (state Board) or CMA/TMA requirement
