Good Samaritan in Canistota, SD is seeking a Medication Assistant to deliver resident-centered nursing care and daily living support under a charge nurse. Responsibilities include vital signs, medication administration, and supportive activities to enhance quality of life.

A CMA/CNA certification as required by state boards is essential, with compensation reflecting responsibilities. This is a full-time, on-site role with a sign-on bonus potential.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 18; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience preferred.
• Completes yearly competency testing and 12 hours of CE annually; maintains required certifications.
• States require CMA/CNA certification; maintain in state boards; CMA/TMA certification where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and mobility.
• Record vital signs and document outcomes of care and medications.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Assist with meals, dining experience, and provide hydration and supplements as needed.
• Support wellness and recreational programs and participate in committees as needed.
