CHS Career Site is seeking a Medical Technologist I to perform routine and high complexity lab tests on blood and body fluids. You will adhere to quality control protocols, troubleshoot instruments, and support patient care through timely test results and documentation.

The role may include teaching new staff and phlebotomy duties as needed, with a Monday-Friday schedule and on-site responsibilities in a clinical lab setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field required.
• Passing score on the Clinical Laboratory Technology Proficiency examination approved by HHS (HEW) required.
• 0–2 years of acute care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate and high complexity laboratory tests with accurate reporting and documentation.
• Adheres to quality control procedures and investigates out-of-range results.
• Performs instrument checks and preventative maintenance per policy.
• Troubleshoots instrument malfunctions and escalates as needed.
• Maintains safety procedures and uses PPE as required.
• Communicates test results and issues with healthcare staff.
• Assists with proficiency testing and data collection for accreditation.
• Performs phlebotomy duties as needed and supports patient care.
• Collaborates with team to ensure efficient shift coverage.
• Maintains regular attendance and adheres to policies.
