Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform hematology, chemistry and microbiology testing in-house at our Louisville lab. You will analyze patient samples, run quality controls and report results in Allscripts EHR.

A CLIA-certified graduate with at least one year of experience is required; pediatric experience preferred. Shift options include 8, 10, or 12 hours with 3–5 shifts per week, and a strong emphasis on accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science field or medical technology.
• CLIA certification standards and compliance.
• ASCP/NCA/AMT certified Medical Technologist preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience; pediatric experience preferred.
• Experience with an Electronic Health Record (EHR) preferred, Allscripts specifically.

Responsibilities

• Analyze patient samples according to approved standards.
• Perform and record quality control procedures to ensure accuracy of test results.
• Maintain equipment for accurate, consistent results.
• Process laboratory specimens as needed and prepare for testing.
• Report results in the EHR (Allscripts) and communicate with providers.
• Maintain laboratory quality assurance and safety standards.
• Assist with CLIA inspections and documentation.
