Job summary

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Technologist by ASCP/NCA/AMT or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of experience; physician office setting preferred.
• Experience with pediatric populations and EHR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens and perform hematology, chemistry and microbiology testing.
• Perform other in-house tests including urinalysis, microscopy, rapid strep screens and throat cultures.
• Collect, process and prepare specimens for reference laboratory.
• Communicate with reference laboratory as needed.
• Utilize Allscripts EHR for reporting tests and communicating with providers.
• Maintain routine maintenance, calibration and standardization of laboratory instruments.
• Perform and report quarterly proficiency testing.
• Maintain CLIA quality assurance and assist in inspections.
• Maintain inventory and ordering of laboratory supplies.
• Keep the laboratory neat, clean and orderly.
