Job summary

UofL Health, Inc. is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform hematology, chemistry and microbiology testing in-house at JHHS - Jewish Hospital - UMC in Louisville, KY.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a science field or medical technology, ASCP/NCA/AMT certification or equivalent, and at least 1 year of experience. The candidate will work with Allscripts EHR and support quality assurance and CLIA compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science field or medical technology from an accredited institution.
• Certification options include ASCP, NCA, or AMT; CLIA standards knowledge is required.
• Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience; pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens and perform hematology, chemistry and microbiology testing in house.
• Perform in house tests including urinalysis, microscopy, rapid strep screens and throat cultures.
• Communicate with reference laboratories as needed regarding specimens and procedures.
• Maintain QA of the laboratory and prepare for CLIA inspections.
• Document quarterly proficiency testing and maintain EHR reporting of results.
