Riverside Health System in Smithfield, VA is hiring a Medical Technologist. The MT performs technical procedures across Hematology, Chemistry, Serology, Blood Bank, POC testing, Urinalysis and Microbiology, while upholding QA/QI and accreditation standards.

The role includes training responsibilities and potential lead duties when the supervisor is absent. Requires a Bachelor's in Medical Lab Technology and MT/MLS certification upon hire; 2 years of lab experience are preferred.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Lab Technology/Clinical Lab Science or related field.
• 2 years of clinical lab experience preferred.
• Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) certification upon hire.

Responsabilidades

• Perform technical laboratory procedures in Hematology, Chemistry, Serology, Blood Bank, Urinalysis and Microbiology.
• Follow quality control and QA guidelines; maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot equipment.
• Assist in training new staff and students; act as lead technologist in absence of supervisor.
• Ensure department maintains accreditation through CAP, DNV, CLIA and other agencies.
