Riverside Health System in Newport News, Virginia is seeking a Medical Technologist (MT) to perform clinical laboratory procedures in Hematology, Chemistry, Serology, Blood Bank, Point of Care Testing, Urinalysis and Microbiology, ensuring accuracy and adherence to SOPs and CAP/DNV/CLIA standards.

Under supervision you will train staff, support QA/QI initiatives, and may serve as lead technologist in the absence of a supervisor.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.
2 years clinical lab experience preferred.

Responsabilités

Performs technical procedures in Hematology, Chemistry, Serology, Blood Bank, Point of Care Testing, Urinalysis & Microbiology.
Facilitates positive customer service throughout the department/facility.
Responds timely to customer needs.
Recognizes, responds and communicates variances with physicians regarding patient data.
Builds collaborative relationships with a multi-disciplinary team to support patient care.
Follows all quality control and quality assurance guidelines.
Performs routine maintenance of equipment and procedures including inventory control, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
Maintains proficiency testing and readiness to meet accreditation standards (CAP, DNV, CLIA, etc.).
Assists in staff and student training and acts as lead technologist in supervisor's absence as designated.
Complies with RHS policies and safety guidelines.
