Job summary

Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform laboratory procedures and operate/maintain lab instruments. The role includes shift rotations (day and night) based on unit needs and workload.

Responsibilities also include assisting with orientation, orientation of new staff, and participation in staff preceptorship and management. Regulatory education and annual training are required, with ongoing certification expectations.

Qualifications

• MT certification current or eligible for ASCP/NCA certification.
• Generalist certification within 2 years of employment.
• Maintains CMP if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory procedures following departmental procedures.
• Operates and maintains laboratory instruments.
• Rotates between day and night shifts as needed.
• Assists with orientation, preceptorship, and management of personnel assigned to unit.
