Job summary

Singing River Health System in Pascagoula, MS seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) for night shift (7pm–7:30am) with rotating weekends/holidays. Responsibilities include specimen evaluation, testing, and reporting per established protocols. Phlebotomy may be required.

CLIA-qualified education and ASCP/AMT certification expected within 1 year. Minimum 1 year of relevant experience preferred; strong attention to detail and customer-service-oriented

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or related scientific discipline required by CLIA.
• ASCP or AMT certification required within 1 year of job start.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate specimens for acceptability and perform testing according to laboratory protocols.
• Verify accuracy of results before reporting and report results timely.
• Maintain and calibrate instruments and equipment and troubleshoot as needed.
• Perform phlebotomy as appropriate for the patient.
