Job summary

Freeman Siloam Springs Hospital is seeking a Medical Technologist I for full-time night shifts. The role includes rotating weekends (Friday–Sunday 7:00 pm–7:00 am; Thursday–Sunday 7:00 pm–7:00 am) with no on-call requirement and adherence to strict quality controls.

You will perform routine and specialized lab tests, maintain records, mentor staff, and assist in other lab areas as needed, with opportunities for growth within Freeman Health System.

Qualifications

• MT/MLS (ASCP), MT (AMT), CLS (NCA), HEW or equivalent certification.
• Bachelor's in medical technology from an accredited institution.
• One year acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and specialized moderate and high complexity laboratory tests on all types of blood and body fluid specimens under minimal supervision.
• Insures accurate and reliable test results by adhering to a strict quality control program.
• Performs instrument function checks and preventative maintenance procedures according to department's policies and procedures.
• Maintains records and statistical data according to regulative requirements.
• Teaches new employees and students laboratory policies and procedures.
• Collects chain of custody urine drug screens as required.
• Assists as needed in all laboratory areas as required to maintain appropriate patient care.

Education

Bachelor's degree in medical technology

MT/MLS (ASCP) certification
