Job summary

HCA Florida North Florida Hospital in Gainesville is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform accurate laboratory testing and support patient care. The role requires an MT with an Associate degree (Bachelor preferred) and Florida licensure or ability to obtain licensure during interviews.

Candidates with 1 year of MT experience and broad generalist skills across Blood Bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, and Microbiology are valued.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required.
• Bachelor degree in Medical Technology preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of MT experience preferred.
• Florida Technologist License required or ability to obtain license during the interview process.
• Licensure in Generalist area with Blood Bank/Serology/Chemistry/Hematology/Microbiology advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing by analyzing proficiency testing samples according to instructions.
• Assume department responsibilities in absence of supervisor.
• Complete all required records and documentation pertaining to patient results.
• Perform stat procedures within established turnaround time targets.
• Demonstrate good judgment and independent thinking in interpretation of results.
