HCA Florida Englewood Hospital is seeking a Medical Technologist to join our hospital laboratory team. The role involves performing accurate lab tests, ensuring timely reporting of patient results, and maintaining compliance with quality control procedures.

We value candidates with at least 1 year of MT experience and a Florida technologist license or the ability to obtain one during the interview process. A 2-year/Associate degree is required, with a Bachelor's in Medical Technology preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires 2-year/Associate degree.
• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of MT experience preferred.
• State of Florida Technologist License required or ability to obtain during interview.
• License in one or more clinical specialty areas; Generalist highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing according to instructions.
• Assume department responsibility in the supervisor's absence.
• Complete all records and documentation for patient results.
• Perform stat procedures within turnaround time targets.
• Demonstrate good judgment and independent thinking in result interpretation.
• Review pending logs and resolve outstanding workload with staff relief.
• Perform quality control procedures per protocol and handle problem/critical specimens.
