HCA Florida Trinity Hospital is seeking a Medical Technologist to join our laboratory team. You will perform accurate and timely laboratory testing, maintain records, and support quality control to ensure patient results are reliable.

Qualified candidates have an associate degree (2-year) with a preferred bachelor's in Medical Technology and Florida technologist licensure or license pending. Minimum 1 year MT experience is preferred; licensure required or obtainable during interview.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required; bachelor's preferred in medical technology or related field.
• Florida technologist license required or ability to obtain during interview.
• Minimum 1 year MT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing by analyzing proficiency testing samples according to instructions and complete within the allowable time frame.
• Assume responsibility of the department as appropriate in the absence of the supervisor.
• Complete all required records/documentation pertaining to patient results.
• Perform stat procedures within established turnaround time targets.
• Demonstrate good judgment and independence in correlation and interpretation of patient results, including delta checks.
• Review pending logs and result logs and communicate with staff relief when needed.
• Perform quality control procedures per protocol and handle all problem/critical laboratory specimens/test results.
