Job summary

HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital is seeking a Medical Technologist to provide expert laboratory testing and champion accurate patient results. You will join an amazing team committed to patient experience and collaboration.

The role requires an Associate Degree (2-year) with a preferred Bachelor’s in Medical Technology, and at least 1 year of MT experience. Florida Technologist license or ability to obtain during interview is required, with broad specialty licensure preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required.
• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of MT experience preferred.
• State license as Technologist required or ability to obtain during interview.
• Licensure in one or more clinical specialty areas (Generalist highly preferred): Blood Bank, Serology, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate and timely laboratory testing according to instructions and within established time frames.
• Take responsibility for the department in the absence of supervision.
• Complete all records and documentation for patient results.
• Perform stat procedures within turnaround time targets.
• Use good judgment in interpretation of patient results and delta checks.
• Review pending logs and results; communicate with staff as needed.
• Perform quality control procedures and handle problematic or critical specimens.
