Job summary

Northwest Florida Community Hospital is seeking a Medical Technologist to join our laboratory team on the Baylor day shift. This full-time role focuses on accurate testing, reporting, and maintaining high patient care standards.

The successful candidate will perform routine and specialized tests, manage specimens, operate equipment, and uphold safety and quality protocols in a fast-paced hospital laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist certification or eligibility.
• Appropriate state and national laboratory credentials/licensure, as applicable.
• Previous hospital laboratory experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized laboratory testing accurately and efficiently.
• Collect and process laboratory specimens according to established procedures.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Perform quality control testing and follow laboratory quality assurance procedures.
• Recognize and report abnormal or critical results appropriately.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
• Follow all applicable hospital, laboratory, safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA.
• Work collaboratively with laboratory staff, nursing, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment.
