Job summary

Northwest Florida Community Hospital in Chipley, FL is seeking a Full-Time Medical Technologist to join our hospital laboratory team on Baylor Day Shift. You will perform routine and specialized testing, report results, and maintain high standards of quality and patient safety.

Responsibilities include operating laboratory equipment, collecting specimens, performing quality control, and collaborating with physicians and nurses to ensure accurate results.

Qualifications

• MT/MLS certification or eligibility is required or as applicable.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized laboratory testing accurately and efficiently.
• Collect and process laboratory specimens according to established procedures.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Perform quality control testing and follow laboratory quality assurance procedures.
• Recognize and report abnormal or critical results appropriately.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
• Follow all applicable hospital, laboratory, safety, infection control, and regulatory standards.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA.
• Work collaboratively with laboratory staff, nursing, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment.
