Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Medical Technologist I in Alabama to perform routine and specialized moderate and high complexity laboratory tests.

You will work with minimal supervision, ensure accurate results, and support patient care through efficient testing and data collection for regulatory compliance. The role may include teaching new employees and students and performing phlebotomy duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or equivalent required.
• Passing score on the Clinical Laboratory Technology Proficiency examination (HEW/HHS) required.
• 0-2 years acute care laboratory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate and high complexity laboratory tests with accuracy and efficiency.
• Adheres to quality control procedures and documents results.
• Maintains instrument function checks and preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoots instrument malfunctions and notifies appropriate personnel.
• Ensures compliance with safety regulations and Laboratory Safety Plan.
• Communicates effectively with staff and supervisors about results and anomalies.
• Assists with proficiency testing and data collection for accreditation.
