Job summary

CHS Career Site is seeking a Medical Technologist I to perform routine and specialized laboratory tests on blood and body fluids under minimal supervision. The role ensures accurate results by adhering to QC protocols and maintaining instruments, while supporting patient care and data collection for regulatory compliance.

The position may include teaching and phlebotomy duties as needed, with a focus on reliability, safety, and teamwork in a fast-paced laboratory setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field is required.
• Passing score on Clinical Laboratory Technology Proficiency examination approved by HHS (HEW) is required.
• 0-2 years of acute care experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate and high complexity laboratory tests accurately and efficiently with proper documentation.
• Adheres to quality control procedures, analyzes data, and takes corrective actions for out-of-range results.
• Conducts instrument checks and preventative maintenance according to lab policies.
• Troubleshoots instrument malfunctions and notifies appropriate personnel.
• Collects chain-of-custody urine drug screens and performs phlebotomy duties as needed.
• Maintains safety regulations and uses PPE.
• Collaborates with team to ensure duties and department responsibilities are completed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
