Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Laboratory Scientist to join the 60491 IL ACL Laboratories - Condell technical team. The role supports a full-time day shift (32 hours/week) with rotating weekends and holidays, starting as early as 5:30 a.m. or 6:00 a.m.

and includes mentoring staff and ensuring timely, accurate results. You will perform tests per protocol, assess results for clinical significance, maintain instruments, and participate in quality control

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or related field.
• Must obtain MT/MLS/AMT certification within 1 year.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests within established protocols.
• Evaluates results for clinical significance and follows policy for reporting.
• Maintains calibration, maintenance and repair of instruments; addresses malfunctions.
• Documents quality control and quality assurance and takes corrective action when needed.
• Collects specimens from newborn to adult patients following established protocol.
• Provides training and guidance to staff and students as needed.
• Ensures compliance with accrediting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Performs specialty testing across multiple laboratory disciplines and supports turnaround times.
