Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a part-time Medical Laboratory Technologist for the Condell site in Illinois. The role involves performing and evaluating routine tests, ensuring quality control, and supporting high-acuity departments such as ED and ICU.

Training and guidance will be provided to technologists and staff. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or a related field, MT/MLS certification within 1 year, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences is required.
• Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Medical Technology or related field is required.
• No experience required.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform, evaluate, and monitor laboratory tests as authorized within established protocols.
• Monitor workflow and adjust to complete work in a timely manner.
• Evaluate results for clinical significance, validity and appropriateness.
• Calibrate, maintain and repair instruments and equipment.
• Ensure proper labeling and specimen collection across all ages.
• Provide training and technical guidance to staff.
• Ensure compliance with accrediting standards and CAP requirements.
• Support transfusion services and high-acuity patient events.
