Job summary

GBMC HealthCare seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician/Technologist to perform diagnostic testing on blood and body fluids. The role requires ensuring accuracy, calibrating instruments, and reporting results.

Qualifications include a BS in Medical Technology or related science with lab experience, or an AS MLS with 4 years of related experience. Certification is encouraged but not required.

Qualifications

• Requires B.S. in Medical Technology or related science with lab experience or A.S. in MLS with extended experience.
• Eligible for certification in Medical Technology or subspecialty certification; certification preferred but not required.
• Experience relevant to clinical laboratory settings and quality control practices.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic testing (waived to highly complex) on blood and specimens.
• Calibrates, performs instrument checks and maintenance of lab instruments.
• Prepares reagents/media as required by procedures.
• Conducts quality control procedures and documents results; takes corrective action as needed.
• Trains students and new staff on lab principles and safety.
• Participates in quality improvement and team-based projects.
