Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Towson, MD seeks a clinical laboratory professional to perform diagnostic testing on blood and other specimens under general supervision. You will calibrate instruments, perform quality control, report results, and assist in training students and new staff.

The role requires a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or related science with experience, or an Associate's degree with substantial experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or related science with additional experience
Two years of related experience if holding a science degree
Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology with four years related experience

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic (waived to highly complex) testing on blood and other specimens
Ensure sample processing accuracy and proper reporting of results
Calibrate, run quality control, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
Prepare reagents/media per procedures or literature
Supervise and orient students and new staff as needed
Participate in quality improvement and continuing education activities
