Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory sciences required.
• Bachelor's or associate degree in medical technology or related field required.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests within established protocols and adjusts workflow to complete work timely.
• Evaluates results for clinical significance and follows policy for reporting test results.
• Performs calibration, maintenance and repair of instruments; recognizes malfunctions and applies corrections.
• Performs quality control and quality assurance, reviewing results and taking corrective action as needed.
• Ensures proper labeling and handling of specimens across all age groups.
• Provides training and technical assistance to staff, students and residents as assigned.
• Supports quality and efficiency improvements and CAP regulatory requirements.
