Job summary

Labcorp in Yakima, WA is seeking a Medical Lab Technologist to join our team. The role entails performing routine and complex testing, troubleshooting instruments, and ensuring accurate results to support patient care.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Medical Technology or an MLS degree with 1+ year of lab experience. Color vision testing and flexibility for overtime are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Medical Technology is required.
• MLS degree or 1+ year of clinical laboratory testing experience required.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Able to pass a color blindness test.
• Attention to detail with multitasking ability; willingness to work overtime.
• Excellent customer service and strong written/verbal communication.
• Proficient with computers and Laboratory Information Systems.

• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation for proper function.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate reagents or controls.

• Perform preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and PPE.

PAML a Labcorp company is seeking a Medical Lab Technologist to join our team in Yakima, WA.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm overtime and rotating weekends may be required

Job Responsibilities:

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Medical Technology
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 year or more working in a Clinical or Hospital Lab
• ASCP or AMT certification

Pay Range: $27.77 to $37.00 hourly
