Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team in Seattle, WA.

Work Schedule: 4x10 schedule, Friday-Monday, 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Location: Swedish First Hill Hospital Lab. You will perform routine and complex procedures, monitor instrumentation, report results, and participate in safety and quality control to ensure accurate patient care.

• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE.

Job Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Life Science, Medical Technology
• ASCP or AMT certification

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience and the terms of the collective bargaining agreement between Dynacare Northwest, Inc. and United Food and Commercial Workers Union, Local 21.
