Job summary

Labcorp, a PAML company, seeks a Medical Lab Technologist to join the Yakima, WA team. The role involves validating specimens, performing routine and complex testing, and ensuring quality results. The position supports a 12:00 pm–8:30 pm schedule with potential overtime and weekend rotation.

Qualified candidates have a Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Medical Technology and 1 year of clinical lab experience or an MLS degree. ASCP/AMT certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Medical Technology.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree.
• 1 year or more working in a Clinical or Hospital Lab ASCP or AMT certification.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.

PAML a Labcorp company is seeking a Medical Lab Technologist to join our team in Yakima, WA.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm overtime and rotating weekends may be required.

Job Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Medical Technology
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year or more working in a Clinical or Hospital Lab ASCP or AMT certification

Pay Range

Pay Range: $27.77 to $37.00 hourly Plus Shift 2 Differentials

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

Benefits

Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
