Virtua Health is seeking a Part Time Night Unit Secretary for the Medical Surgical unit in Voorhees. The role involves clerical duties, maintaining patient records, and coordinating patient flow on the unit.

The position requires basic computer skills, familiarity with medical terminology, and 1–2 years of medical secretarial experience. Shift is 7:00 pm–7:00 am with every 3rd weekend and some holidays.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 1-2 years secretarial or administrative assistant experience in a medical setting is preferred.
• Basic computer skills and ability to quickly learn unit computer systems.
• Understanding / familiarity of medical terminology or ability to quickly learn in order to process and maintain accurate medical records.

Responsabilités

• Processes and maintains clerical information on the unit.
• Maintains patient’s electronic medical record, ensures completeness and accuracy of patient charts and records, communicates consults by contacting providers, and coordinates admission, discharge, transfer status.
• Assists with coordination of patient flow, unit rounding, and visitor security.
• Assists with coordination of patient transportation to external facilities or discharge to home.
• Maintains supplies, equipment, and places orders for service, coordinating with Environmental Services as required.
