Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations in Egg Harbor, NJ. You will assist with donor eligibility, adverse event management, lab result review, and donor notifications under medical guidance.

The role requires RN/NP/PA licensure, CPR/AED, 2+ years clinical experience, and FDA-approved BioLife training. Comprehensive benefits are offered in a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; graduate nursing program with state requirements.
• Current licensure or certification: RN, NP, or PA.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Completion of FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis.
• Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including standing orders and donor transport to emergency care.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings and medical or technical issues regarding donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is needed by occupational health/ER, referring to EHS guidance.
• Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.

Works under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician for medical issues and follows guidance from BioLife Medical Affairs and EHS.
