Job Description

As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at BioLife Plasma Services, you will report to the Plasma Center Manager and support plasma center operations. Your responsibilities include determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable results. You will provide medical oversight under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician, and support environmental, health and safety (EHS) initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess donor eligibility: manage informed consent, conduct medical history interviews, perform physical examinations, and conduct blood testing.
• Interpret serological tests, including Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE), and evaluate donor reactions per SOPs.
• Coordinate medical emergencies, including executing Center Physician standing orders and arranging transport to emergency care facilities.
• Communicate unacceptable findings to donors and seek guidance on medical or technical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Handle employee incidents and consult occupational health/ER for further evaluation following EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, investigating local pandemic threats.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or a graduate-level recognized nursing program with state requirements.
• Current RN, NP, or PA license in the state of assignment.
• Valid CPR and AED certification.
• State-required basic IV therapy proficiency.
• Completion of FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Minimum two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Location and Compensation

USA – TX – North Richland Hills.

Hourly wage range: $33.44 – $45.98. Additional benefits include short‑term incentives, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, disability coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time, company holidays, well‑being benefits, and up to 80 hours of sick leave per year (120 hours vacation for new hires).
