Job summary

Concentra is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to join our patient care team in Plano, TX. You will perform routine medical procedures under supervision and support front/back office operations to ensure a smooth patient experience.

You will manage DOT/non-DOT testing, prep patients for exams, assist clinicians, and help with documentation and possibly nursing tasks. This role requires accuracy, compassion, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with externship preferred.
• OR at least one year of direct patient care experience as a medical assistant.
• Military medical experience considered with state credentials.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT and non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Prepare patients for physical examinations and vital signs; phlebotomy, vaccines, injections.
• Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, glucose, etc.).
• Assist providers during examinations and treatments.
• Handle routine medical procedures and triage emergencies.
• Assist with procedure setup and injury care.
• Apply bandages, dressings, and splints as ordered.
• Dispense medications and DME per clinician orders.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and cleanliness; ensure proper documentation.
