Job summary

Kingman Regional Medical Center is seeking a Medical Staff Specialist to support credentialing and privileging for Medical Staff and Allied Health Professionals. You will work with the MSS/GME Director to ensure accreditation standards, confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPCS certification desirable at recruitment. It is required within four years of hire into this position.
• College degree preferable.
• Experience in medical staff functions or comparable activities is desirable.
• Medical terminology proficiency is desired.

Responsibilities

• a. Conduct, participate in, and maintain records for credentialing and privileging for all KHI providers.
• b. Analyze applications for completeness and discrepancies; communicate status to providers.
• c. Obtain and evaluate provider sanctions, complaints and adverse data.
• d. Manage initial and reappointment scheduling to meet timelines and expiration dates.
• e. Assigns and tracks completion of all competency training for all providers.
• f. Maintain knowledge of Bylaws, accreditation standards, and policy to ensure compliance.
• g. Serve as a resource to collaborate with providers and staff to advance quality and safety.
• h. Conduct primary source verification of initial and reappointment applications.
• i. Identify issues requiring investigation and follow-up.
• j. Compile, evaluate, and present provider information for MSS/GME review.
• k. Support MSS/GME Director and coordinate MSS events.
• l. Facilitate communication between CMO, Director MSS/GME, colleagues and providers.
