Job summary

Sweetwater Pain and Spine is seeking a Medical Scribe to document patient encounters in real time within the EMR, enabling clinicians to focus on patient care. You will accompany physicians into exam rooms, record histories, exams, procedures, and orders, and ensure accurate, complete documentation across multiple locations.

The role requires attention to detail, strong typing, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinic.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent; healthcare-related education preferred.
• Experience with EMR systems is preferred but on-the-job training is available.
• Strong typing and general computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Accompany physician or NP into patient exam rooms to document in EMR.
• Accurately record patient history, exams, procedures, and assessments.
• Document provider orders for labs, imaging, referrals, and meds.
• Prepare and organize patient charts prior to appointments.
• Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with standards.
• Assist with reviewing charts to finalize and sign documentation.
• Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
• Assist tracking diagnostic results for provider review.
• Communicate with medical assistants and staff to ensure smooth flow.
• Perform other clerical or documentation duties as assigned.
