Job summary

Southeast Orthopedic Specialists is seeking a Medical Scribe for its Seton Location. This full-time role focuses on accurate, real-time documentation to allow clinicians to spend more time with patients.

Responsibilities include EHR entry of histories, exams, results, treatment plans and prescriptions, plus support for labs and imaging orders. HIPAA compliance and fast-paced clinic skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant/Scribe program or 1 year orthopedic scribe experience.
• CNA or healthcare certification encouraged to apply.
• 2 years of healthcare or back-office experience, orthopedic a plus.
• Tech-savvy, detail-driven, and comfortable in a fast-paced clinic.

• Enter history, exams, results, treatment plans and prescriptions into the EHR.
• Assist with labs, radiology reports, and provider orders.
• Support seamless patient care while maintaining HIPAA standards.
• Assist with training and mentoring other scribes and staff.

GENERAL SUMMARY

Essential Functions

• Accurately chart patient encounters: history, exams, diagnostics, labs, treatment plans, prescriptions, and discharge instructions.
• Interact professionally with patients, providers, and team members.
• Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and HOPCo policies.
• Support patient care and care coordination as needed.
• Assist with training and mentoring other scribes and staff.
• Demonstrate ongoing competency and commitment to excellence.

Requirements

• Completion of a Medical Assistant/Scribe program or 1 year orthopedic scribe experience
• CNA, Pre-Med students or equivalent healthcare certification are encouraged to apply.
• 2 years of healthcare or back-office experience (orthopedics a plus!)
• Tech-savvy, detail-driven, and comfortable in a fast-paced clinic.
