Job summary

Ascension is seeking a part-time professional in Carmel, IN, within the Otorhinolaryngology department. The role focuses on supporting the provider with patient documentation, order transcription, and accurate charting of encounters.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with 1 year of relevant experience preferred. Licensed practical/vocational nurse or medical assistant credentials are a plus.

• Transcribes orders including labs, radiology, and medications.
• Documents procedures performed by the provider.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Accompanies provider into the patient examination room to document the provider's encounter with the patient .
• Lists all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions as indicated by the provider.
• Transcribes patient orders including but not limited to laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications.
• Documents procedures performed by the provider.

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):

• Preferred Credential(s):
  • Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse.
  • Medical Assistant.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. *Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
