Job summary

Colon, Stomach, & Liver Center, powered by One GI®, seeks a Patient Scheduling Representative to support patient success in Lansdowne, VA. The role is full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, with no nights or weekends, at our Virginia office.

Join a team of gastroenterology professionals focused on exceptional patient care and efficient scheduling processes. You will manage referrals, educate patients, and coordinate with physicians and staff to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a medical office preferred.
• Formal training with at least one year experience as medical assistant, medical secretary, health unit coordinator, nursing assistant or similar role.
• In lieu of formal training has at least two years experience in patient care with basic medical terminology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Update referral, demographic, and insurance information in the practice management database.
• Schedule office and procedure visits utilizing physician parameters and preferences.
• Make decisions regarding safe procedure preparation and scheduling based on physician preferences.
• Provide patients with forms, literature, and clear instruction for procedures.
• Notify referring physicians of patient appointments or scheduling issues.
• Monitor wait lists and patient communications for follow up.
