Job description

We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Medical Scheduler to join our fast-paced clinical support team. In this role, you will serve as a vital link between patients and medical providers by managing provider appointment calendars, handling routine and urgent scheduling requests, and entering accurate patient encounter data. You will work in a fast-paced setting, coordinating closely with nursing and departmental staff to ensure smooth clinic utilization and timely care delivery.

Position Type:

3-Month Contract Opportunity (Potential for extension up to 2 years, with exposure to permanent positions)

Pay Rate:

$25.00 / hour

Key Responsibilities

• Appointment & Calendar Management: Operate clinical appointment systems to schedule routine and urgent provider visits accurately. Maintain provider master calendars and process daily schedule modification requests.
• Interdepartmental Coordination: Coordinate clinic appointments with clinical staff, nursing teams, and radiology departments to ensure seamless patient flow and clinic utilization.
• Data Entry & Documentation: Perform prompt and accurate data entry for patient encounters and assist with departmental referral forms.
• Reporting & Distribution: Review outgoing schedules and distribute daily clinic reports to designated departments.
• Customer Service: Deliver professional, empathetic customer service that aligns with service excellence standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
• Experience: 1-2 years of call center or high-volume phone customer service experience.
• Technical Skills: Accurate data entry skills and proficiency with computerized scheduling software. Knowledge of Epic or regional electronic medical record (EMR) systems is a plus.
• Core Competencies: Effective verbal, written, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills; high attention to detail; and strong time-management capabilities.
