Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Medical Scheduler in Columbia, MD to support a busy healthcare practice. You will manage a high volume of patient communications and appointment scheduling, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include handling 60-100 daily calls, scheduling appointments, processing referrals, verifying insurance, and supporting billing inquiries while maintaining HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting.
• Previous call center or high-volume phone experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Proficient computer and data entry skills.
• HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.

• Process referrals and prescription refill requests.
• Verify patient registration and insurance information.

MEDICAL SCHEDULER

Location: Columbia, MD

Pay: $15.00 - $21.00/hour

Work Environment

Work is performed in a professional healthcare office environment with frequent interaction with patients, visitors, providers, and staff. This position requires sitting for extended periods, frequent telephone use, and computer-based work in a fast-paced call center setting.

Schedule

• Monday - Friday
• 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
• On-site position

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Rate: $15.00 - $21.00/hour
