Job summary

Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, LLC is seeking a Medical Records Coordinator to join our team at the Westchester, IL corporate office. The role requires medical records experience, terminology knowledge, and strong customer service, with occasional travel to Chicago 2-3 times monthly.

Qualifications

Experience in medical records handling and privacy compliance.
Knowledge of medical terminology required.
HIPAA and patient privacy regulations knowledge.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Analyze and respond to requests for medical information while ensuring confidentiality.
Maintain, file, and retrieve active and inactive medical records.
Process information requests from outside parties and ensure proper releases.
Scan, fax, email, and forward records as needed; manage IME and other charts.
Coordinate chart retrieval from storage, schedule doctors, and manage releases.
Assist with mailroom duties and office supply orders as required.
Ensure records are complete, accurate, and compliant with time standards.
