Job summary

Sutter Health is seeking a Records/Release of Information Specialist to handle requests for medical record copies within required timeframes. You will prepare, scan, index and QA patient documents for the electronic health record, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

You will analyze records for deficiencies, locate legacy records, and coordinate merges across systems and charts, maintaining complete and compliant documentation per policies.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of TJC, CMIA, COP, Title 22 and related regulations.
• Attention to evolving laws on release of information; seminars advised.
• Basic anatomy and physiology knowledge; familiarity with HIM in Revenue Cycle.
• Understanding of document imaging and forms management and interrelations.
• Ability to communicate ideas clearly, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Receives and processes requests for medical record copies within required timeframes.
• Prepares, scans, indexes, and QA patient documents for the EHR.
• Analyze records for deficiencies per medical bylaws and standards.
• Locate and track legacy records; coordinate merges across systems and charts.
• Ensure completeness, accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures.
