Job summary

Mass General Brigham in Somerville, MA is seeking an on-site Records Imaging Specialist to support the HIM department. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Digital/Electronic Document Imaging experience 1–2 years preferred.
• Medical office/hospital/Managed Care experience 0–1 year preferred.

Responsibilities

• Processes, sorts and scans medical record documents into the document management system within timeframes, meeting productivity and accuracy expectations.
• Analyzes patient health records to identify misfiled or mislabeled documents and ensures scanned docs belong to the correct patient record.
• Prepares batches of documents according to prepping guidelines and proper capture class and patient identifiers.
• Performs a QA on all pages in a scanned batch and edits as needed before sending the batch to auto indexing.
• Retrieves, delivers and returns records across Mass General Brigham sites, including offsite storage and site locations within turnaround times.
• Processes and updates requests for the paper record via Epic work queues, pull lists and email.
• Performs diligent searches to locate all paper records requested and understands cataloging/indexing at offsite storage warehouse.
• Uses offsite storage warehouse tracking system to order and update records with correct priority and delivery location.
• Utilizes image/scan on demand functionality according to established procedures as directed by Team Lead/Manager.
