Job summary

Mass General Brigham’s Newton-Wellesley Hospital is seeking an on-site Radiology Support Assistant to greet patients, prep imaging rooms, and assist radiology technologists during X-ray, CT, MRI, and ultrasound procedures to ensure patient safety and smooth workflows.

You will help position patients, manage digital images for PACS, transport patients, and maintain supply levels while recording procedures for medical records and billing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 0-1 year hospital/managed care or radiology experience preferred.
• Familiarity with radiology terminology and equipment is beneficial.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and the radiology team.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for radiology procedures, explaining the imaging process and answering questions.
• Prepare and arrange radiology equipment, including X-ray, CT, MRI, and ultrasound devices.
• Help position patients correctly on the imaging table or in standing/sitting positions.
• Assist radiology technologists with image processing and transfer to PACS.
• Transport patients to and from the radiology department safely and comfortably.
• Maintain supplies and track items in the radiology department.
• Maintain accurate records of patient procedures for medical records and billing.
