Job summary

Portland State University is hiring a Medical Records Coordinator in the SHC Center for Student Health & Counseling to ensure accurate data handling and privacy compliance for patient records. The role oversees releases of information and vaccine compliance forms, supporting clinical staff and students.

The position is full-time, in-person, with hours Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5pm. Starting hourly rate is $21.91, with competitive benefits including health coverage and retirement options.

Qualifications

• Two years of general clerical experience.
• One year of typing, word processing, or other experience generating documents.
• AND an Associate’s degree in Office Occupations or Office Technology OR graduation from a private school of business with a Certificate in Office Occupations or Office Technology and one year of general clerical experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient data is compiled, updated and organized in compliance with HIPAA and FERPA.
• Oversee processing of Releases of Information and vaccine requirement forms.
• Make medical information accessible to clinical staff while preserving patient privacy.
