Stars Behavioral Health Group is seeking a Medical Records Clerk for the Adult Crisis Residential Unit in Merced, CA. The role focuses on maintaining organized patient records, supporting admissions and transfers, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Working hours are Monday–Friday, daytime shift. Starting compensation ranges from $19.06 to $22.00 per hour, with competitive benefits including employer-paid medical, dental, and vision, plus paid time off and commuter benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One (1) year unit clerk or clerical experience and medical record experience in an inpatient or outpatient setting.
• Valid California Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and organized client records, create and manage client binders, label documents, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Support admissions, referrals, and transfers; track screenings and assessments.
• Photograph new admissions for medical records; maintain daily census and shift reports.

This role supports admissions, referrals, and transfers, tracks required screenings and assessments, photographs new admissions for placement in medical records, and maintains daily census reports and shift reports.
