Job summary

Star View Behavioral Health, Inc. seeks a Unit & Quality Assurance Clerk to support intake, charting, and QA at the Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center in City of Industry. You will verify Medi-Cal eligibility, open records in EMR/IBHIS, and ensure compliance with DMH requirements.

The role requires a high school diploma, unit clerk experience, QA exposure, and bilingual Spanish-English skills. A California driver’s license is needed, with company-paid benefits and paid training offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• One year unit clerk or clerical experience in inpatient/outpatient setting.
• Quality assurance experience in social services or QA/TQM concepts preferred.
• Billing experience is required.
• Valid California Driver's License.
• Bilingual Spanish-English speaking ability is required.

Responsibilities

• This position gathers, processes, and tracks new client information for intake, treatment, and discharge.
• Verifies Medi-Cal eligibility and opens client records in EMR and IBHIS.
• Ensures records comply with agency policy and DMH requirements.
• Performs data gathering and quality improvement tasks; maintains chart order.
• Enters data into LA County data collection sites and supports QA activities.

What you bring to SBHG (Qualifications):

• High School Diploma or equivalent required

• One (1) year unit clerk or clerical experience in an inpatient or outpatient setting.

• Quality assurance experience within the social services field, or related experiences in dealing with QA/TQM concepts and procedures preferred.

How you will make a difference (Job Overview):

This position performs a wide variety of business and operations tasks including gathering, processing, and tracking new client information for intake, treatment, and discharge. This position will facilitate the verification of Medi-cal eligibility as required and open new client records in EMR and IBHIS as assigned. This position will also assure that all aspects of the record are in keeping with agency policy and DMH requirements. Activities performed can be time-sensitive with expectations of frequent reporting of progress along with thorough oversight for accuracy. Regular interaction with all staff members, physicians, and outside agencies is expected. This position has responsibility for gathering and analyzing agency data and assisting in the agency’s quality control, quality assurance, and quality improvement efforts. In addition, the Unit & Quality Assurance Clerk’s duties will include but are not limited to ensuring that the chart order is maintained, entering data into the L.A. County data collection sites, and other quality improvement tasks as assigned.

Division/Program Overview:

• 24/7 outpatient program

• Rapid mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and medication support

• Walk-in’s welcome

• Clients may stay up to 24 hours

• BHUCC equipped to serve 12 adults (ages 18 and up) and 6 adolescent (ages 13 to 17)
